Like I mentioned in my last post, Josh flew in on Christmas day. We visited Temple Square to see the lights.
The next morning, we took advantage of the amazing Utah snow and went sledding at Oak Canyon just up the hill from the house. Josh got on my snowboard and practiced on the little hills.
We cleaned up, took showers and got in the car to drive to Logan! We toured USU campus, kissed on the A, and then met up with Molly at Le Nonne.
After Le Nonne, we hit up the White Owl as a Cache Valley staple.
We headed back to Molly's parents and watched some Parks and Recreation and drank some wine.

The next morning, we headed up Green Canyon to do some snowshoeing. It was Josh's first time snowshoeing and he loved it. The snow wasn't really that great for snowshoeing, but we had a great time.
After Green Canyon we stopped by Emma's house, then had a delicious lunch at Tandoori Oven. We headed out of Utah to the Idaho border and to La Tienda.
After La T we visited the Cache Valley Cheese Factory. We enjoyed some winter ice cream and picked up some deliciously cheap cheese. We then headed to Park City to meet up with the family for a mini vacation at Zermatt Resort
The day we got to Zermatt, Grandma had planned for us to go tubing at Soldier Hollow. We had a great time with the whole family and some!
The next morning we went snowshoeing with my parents in Wasatch State Park. It was great weather to be out hiking.
Zermatt was casual and I had fun hanging out with my Niece.
My parents planned and orchestrated a Mystery Dinner. Zangelina and Tad Pitt were in attendance. Luke ended up being the murderer and he killed my dad. We had a great time dressing up, dining, playing gambling games, dancing and figuring out the myster. Josh and I were Miami Bloom and Ninsey Nohan, I hope we played our parts well :).
Grandma bought us all lunch at a favorite Midway Mexican place. We tried and rated all the different salsas!
The next day at Zermatt, we went to Park City to sight-see.
Our first stop was the Olympic Park. We got to see the bobsled route and the ski jumps. We saw stuff left from the opening and closing ceremonies and a ski museum.
We are skiers to the max.

We then headed to Squatters for some brews. The place was hopping so we drew some ski pictures while we waited.

We walked Main Street and got our picture taken with the iconic bear and visited the Banksy art.

The next day we headed back up to Park City again to visit the High West Distillery and No Name Saloon before heading back to my parents.
On our way back from Park City and then Midway, we stopped at the outdoor ice skating rink to do a few circles around the rink.
If we hadn't already done enough activities, we had a couple of ski days to go. Mariah got out discount passes at Sundance and we had a bluebird day where Josh learned his snowboarding skills.
We celebrated the New Year at my brothers house. Josh and I were tired so we went back to the house and ended up cheering "Happy New Year" from the Hot Tub. It was not a bad way to start the year!
After the first of the year we headed on another mini-vaca to Southern Utah. Our first stop was Ruby's Inn down by Bryce Canyon National Park.
We snowshoed/hiked about 3 miles down in the Queen's Garden through the Hoo-doo's. I think Josh really liked the southern Utah rock formation at Bryce.
After a microwaved dinner and burnt popcorn at Ruby's Inn we headed to Zion National Park, around the back way.
We stayed right outside the park and ended up getting a room upgrade because we told the hotel it was our anniversary! We drove through the tunnel and then around each canyon in the park. We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Springdale and were 2 of about 6 people there. It's definitely the off season.
We tried hiking to the Emerald pools, but the trail was closed. We got to see all the formations though, so I call it a success.
After two weeks of fun, Josh flew back to Texas and I met him there a few days later. I loved being the tour guide and doing all the touristy things in Utah. It was a great way to spend the Holiday.
